Pray for our mission partners at Trinity Church Bradford

Emmanuel supports a number of long term mission partners in the UK as well as overseas. Our newest partners are Tom and Caroline Swinney who are church planting in Bradford. They visited us in the summer to tell us all about what they were doing. Since then, they’ve launched “Trinity Church Bradford” and started making lots of local connections.

In the build up to their first Christianity Explored Course (which begins on 1st February), they organised a quiz night (attended by 36 people) and Carols by Candlelight (attended by 45 people). Over the next four Sundays, they are running a sermon series entitled "How do Christians think about...." where they will think about 'abortion', 'sex',  'facebook' and 'human rights'. There has been a fair bit of talk about the series and so they are hoping to attract a number of visitors to their services.

In addition to meeting on Sundays and organising several social events, they have established a Christian meeting at the headquarters of Morrisons. The group is growing and people are beginning to reach out to their colleagues.

As Emmanuel Bristol starts its new congregation in Ashley Down, it is exciting to see what our brothers and sisters in Bradford are doing to connect with their local community and draw in outsiders. What could we learn from them? Adapt? Do differently?

Please keep praying for the Swinneys as they labour for the gospel in Bradford, particularly in the run up to the Christianity Explored course
