The Wild Goose

The Wild Goose drop-in centre is a really important part of the work Crisis Centre Ministries, based on Stapleton Road in Easton, and providing much needed food, shelter and welcome for those in the middle of difficult and chaotic life situations such as homelessness and addiction.

The work relies on the support of local Christians, including several from within the Emmanuel church family.

Right now there are two particular needs which it would be great if we were able to help with:
  • Volunteers are desperately needed to staff the drop-in centre in the daytime on Tuesdays and Wednesdays  - currently the centre is having to open late or not at all on those days, which means people don't get fed. See p.8 of this CCM newsletter for who to contact if you can help.
  • With colder weather coming, donations of warm hats, gloves, scarves and socks would be gratefully received and handed on to those in need of them. If you have any to donate, bring them along on Sunday and pass them to Sim Jemmett (Westbury) or Lindsay Dale (Ashley Down) who will see they get to The Wild Goose.

The Wild Goose is just one of several local projects members of our church family serve in order to love and reach out to those in need in our community, as God has reached out to us in Jesus. To find out more about some of these other projects check out this Community Action Project update.
