Dear Sufferer, Do Not Harden Your Heart

We're nearly at the end of our time in the book of Numbers on Sundays. What are we supposed to learn from this strange book? The writer to the Hebrews looks back at some of the events Numbers describes and then issues this stark warning - "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts" Hebrews 3:15.

Ed Welch of CCEF writes:
To paraphrase Hebrews 3, “Dear brothers and sisters, be comforted by the One who knows temptations and hardships because he went through them. And—please, hear me on this, please hear me because this is so important—be warned because the track record of human beings in suffering is abysmal. We so often harden our hearts to the Lord when trouble comes our way.”
