The Top 100 Best Christian Books

The Church Times have just published their attempt at the Top 100 Best Christian Books. Their No.1 is Augustine of Hippo's Confessions which, much to my relief, I've read. It contains these famous words:
...to praise you is the desire of man, a little piece of your creation. You stir man to take pleasure in praising you, because you have made us for yourself, and our heart is restless until it rests in you.
It's a good choice - but some of the other 99 would not make my list (these things are always subjective - and the CT's list reflects a range of theological outlooks). I am, of course, delighted by the number of books by CS Lewis (Mere Christianity/ The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe/ The Screwtape Letters/ A Grief Observed/ Surprised by Joy) and the inclusion of: John Bunyan's, Pilgrim's Progress, George Herbert's, English Poems, GK Chesterston's, Orthodoxy, Dietrich Bonhoeffer's, Letters from Prison, Henri Nouwen's, The Return of the Prodigal Son, Marilynne Robinson's, Gilead and Georges Bernanos', The Diary of a Country Priest. They would be in my top 100 too.

What would your Top 100 be? Or, at least, your Top 10? Not got a Christian book on the go at the moment? Try those I recommend or have a look at our church's recommendations here.
