What should we do in response to the refugee crisis?

“Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering."
Hebrews 3 v 1-3

As people of the King who was himself once a refugee (Matthew 2:13-15), and those who live by the word of a God who 'defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you' (Deuteronomy 10:18), and who are ourselves strangers and exiles (1 Peter 2:11) in a land not our own (Philippians 3:20) - we'll each want to think carefully about our response to the current refugee crisis.
