Living with Depression

There are some things that we all face but that we rarely talk about. Our experience of it might be personal - or the struggles of someone that we know and love - but, for some reason its just not easily shared with others.

A couple of years ago we spent an evening as a family of churches talking about living with anxiety which we felt was one of those ignored issues. We spent our time together thinking and talking about the lived experience of anxiety, what can help and hinder those who struggle with it and what we as church families can be doing to help. The main aim of the evening was to publicly talk about something that is too often kept too private. It seemed to help.

This autumn we're going to spend another similar evening together - with the focus this time being the common experience of depression. We'll hear from church family members who have lived or are living with depression - and those who have walked alongside them. There will be input from God's Word and from God's world. Again our main hope and prayer is that the time together will get people talking about something we too often ignore.

We'd love to see as many people as possible there - depression is an experience that will impact us all at some stage. Please do join us.
