Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will swallow them up. Their protection is gone, but the Lord is with us. Do not be afraid of them. Numbers 14:9
There were giants in the land. Ten of the spies look at them and were afraid. They were afraid because all they did was compare the giants with themselves. And beside these giants they felt very small. Like grasshoppers.
But two of the spies looked at the very same giants and were not afraid. They were not afraid because they compared the giants with the Lord. And beside the Lord these giants didn’t look so big anymore.
We will face giants. We will face opposition and illness and trials and temptations that look too big for us to handle. So let’s learn from Joshua and Caleb. When we face giants, look up to the Lord who is with us, look at how He keeps all His promises and the giants won’t seem so big. And we won’t feel so afraid.
But, we say, we don’t quite know where to look?
