Yesterday we used these ten questions to unlock the treasure in Psalm 12. The big aim was to to equip us to use them to get into any other psalm - so here they are for future reference:
1) Who is speaking and what is their situation?
2) How does the Psalmist communicate their situation (language / imagery / allusions etc.)?
3) What does the Psalmist tell us about our Father God?
4) How does the Psalmist describe God (language / imagery / allusions etc.)?
5) What moves does the Psalmist make (structural / theological / emotional etc.)?
6) What’s the big idea of this Psalm?
7) What has changed since the writing of this Psalm?
8) How does this Psalm trail Jesus and the Gospel?
9) How does this Psalm connect with you and so what do you especially want to keep reflecting on and start sharing with others (verse / language / imagery / allusion etc.)?
10) How can we better connect ourselves and others with this part of God’s Word to us?
